UPDATE:  This girl is going into foster today 12/1/10
Stay tuned for more info once she is in foster care and has
been spayed

This sweet little girl is only six months old and was dumped
in the shelter along with three other dogs.
She is in desperate need of a foster or adoptive home.
I cant find any boarding kennels in the area that will take a dog
straight out of the shelter and we have no
fosters in the area.
Can anyone help us?

UPDATE ON EROL IN SOUTH CAROLINA

A little update on Erol, the sick and abused/neglected dog we pulled from a kill shelter
in South Carolina.

A huge thank you to all of the people that have donated
items and funds for Erol's care.
He has had several orders of food donated as well as
two dog beds and gift cards to foster mom for his care.

He is doing better, little by little but he still has a long road ahead of him.
He has no interest in getting up and walking around but he is eating well
so we are hopeful his strength is improving.
He's still not drinking a lot but foster mom provides liquid with each meal
to help him stay hydrated.

Nearly all of his teeth are broken at the gum line.
He does have a couple of his back teeth and part of one of his
canine teeth is intact.
Heaven only knows what this boy has been through.
He's afraid of men but is comfortable with letting
ladies pet him and handle him.

As he regains his strength we would LOVE to be able
to move him into a foster (or adoptive) home
where he will have more one on one attention and be
in more of a home setting.
His current foster mom is providing good care but he's not in
a home setting.

Thank you to everyone for the prayers and well wishes
as well as everyone that has donated to his care.
I will continue to keep you all updated on his progress.

UPDATE ON EROL

NOVEMBER 8, 2010

Erol continues to make little bits of improvement each day.
His tail is up and not tucked between his legs anymore.
There's a sparkle in his eye and his foster mom
reports that he is happy to see her.
She says he is a very kind and gentle dog who
is very appreciative of every bit of kindness shown to him.

He has eaten all of the 20 lbs of Flint River donated to him
and could really use more if anyone wants to help him out!
He is eating 7 cups of food a day plus he has canned food on top of it as well.

He is also in need of a good dog bed and a brush.
If anyone would like to donate any of these items please email me!

Thank you all so much for the prayers and well wishes.
He has a lot of people pulling for him and he is proving that he is a true survivor.
This dog has a lot of spirit and will to live.
What amazes me is his forgiveness and ability to still have trust in people!!
Please email Carleen for more information.

"LIZZIE"
CANTON GEORGIA

Lizzie is such a cute and sweet girl!
She is a spayed female Anatolian Shepherd Dog,

she wasn't working out with the chickens.

We have not evaluated her with chickens but she is very
easy going and friendly with all the other dogs in her foster home.
She is still very much a puppy, playful, silly and seems to always be happy.
She's a tail wagger and has a sunny personality.
She is housebroken, loves car rides and is learning leash manners.
What's not to love?
This is a super girl.
Lizzie is a smart girl and a quick learner.
She will make an excellent family companion dog.
We will always do our best to help with transport within
appx 1,000 miles.
Please email Carleen for more information.

UPDATE ON
"EROL"

Erol walked out of the vet hospital 24 hours ago.
He is doing better but is not out of the woods yet.

He is still weak and not wanting to move around much and
he is still not drinking enough either.
Foster mom is mixing a lot of water in with his food
to help keep him hydrated.

Despite the fact that he has been
treated horribly in his short life,
Erol is still forgiving and trusting.
He lays his head in foster mom's lap
and trusts her .

Foster mom reports that most, if not all,
of his teeth are broken to some extent.
As if he may have been kicked in the mouth many times.
This poor boy has been through so much,
it's heartbreaking.

Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers.
He has a lot of people pulling for him and
we are counting on him being a true survivor
and getting past this.

Foster mom is feeding him 7 cups of food each day now.
If anyone would like to donate food to Erol
please let us know.
It would be greatly appreciated!

Please email Carleen for more information.

as she is a wonderful guardian and protective of her
home and family.

UPDATE ON EROL

November 2, 2010

Erol has improved since yesterday but is going to spend
another night at the clinic on IV fluids.
He has enough spark in him to have chewed through
the IV tube so he now has an e-collar on =)

The vet also noted that he has apparently been shot
as he has buckshot wounds/scars on his body.
It sounds like this boy has been through hell and back.
Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers!
He's showing at least "some" improvement from
yesterday so we are really hoping
and praying he will be well enough tomorrow
to go back to his foster home.

Thanks for caring!
"LUCY"

ELLENSBURG, WA

Lucy is a 2.5 year old spayed female Anatolian Shepherd mix
She is a very sweet and loving girl.
Lucy will do best as the only female dog in the home
as she isn't too fond of other girl dogs or cats.
She likes to play with a male dog who is her size or bigger.
Lucy weighs appx 75 lbs
She is current on all shots and is in good health.

Lucy is housebroken and knows basic commands.
She would make a great dog for a retired person/couple
or someone who works/homeschools from home.
She is not a nuisance barker but
She is an excellent guardian dog and will be sure to let you know
if someone is around.
Please email Carleen for more information.

UPDATE ON EROL

I posted last week about a dog in a South Carolina shelter.
We named him "Erol" which means "brave" in Turkish.

Erol was moved to a foster home on Friday.
His foster mom was worried about him bc he wouldn't stand up
or walk for more than a few steps and he was barely drinking any water.
Erol went to the vet today and we found out that he is a very sick boy.

He tested positive for heartworm and also positive for anaplasmosis,
a tick borne disease.
He has giardia as well and is very dehydrated on top of being severely
malnourished.
He looks like a very old dog but the vet says he is between 18-24 months.
He has a couple of broken teeth but they're clean with no tartar.
Erol is spending the night at the vet clinic on IV fluids.
We are not sure if he will pull through but we will do all we can
to save him.

Please keep Erol in your thoughts and prayers!
I will update more later, hopefully, with better news.
